Desktop Softphone Setup

We support two softphones: ClearlyAnywhere (fully supported) and MicroSIP (free, Windows only). See Softphones: ClearlyAnywhere and MicroSIP for prices and troubleshooting.

The desktop softphone runs on Windows and Mac and lets you place and receive calls through a headset or your computer's built-in audio. Useful when you don't have a desk phone or are working remotely.

What you'll need

• A wired USB headset is recommended for call quality — Plantronics/Poly and Jabra both work well
• A stable internet connection (at least 100 Kbps per concurrent call)
• Your PJL user credentials (provided during onboarding)

Why use both desktop and desk phone?

Many users run both simultaneously — calls ring to both, you answer wherever you're standing. The desktop app is also a great backup when you're away from your desk.
